SPEAK THE WORD
A few years ago, I read a book by Joyce Meyer called Me and My Big Mouth (I highly recommend this book). In it, she taught the principles of retraining your mouth to speak the Word of God instead of doubt, fear, and unbelief. I began to write out a list
of personal confessions found in the Word, and it has really changed my life. For example, when I start to feel discouraged or
think that my prayers are not doing anything, then I remember James 5:16, which says the heartfelt prayer of a righteous man
makes tremendous power available. When I am tempted to believe that God does not love me or is disappointed in me, then I remember Psalm 149:4, which tells me that God delights in me. God is helping me to change my words, my thoughts, and my
actions.
